Levels of the program:
Become a Space Cadet
Fill up all 8 spots on your card with every $25 you spend in the shop and earn a fibre space t-shirt or project bag. You then graduate to the next level!
Become a Space Explorer
Fill up all 8 spots on your card with every $50 you spend in the shop and earn advance notice on fibres and products that have “just landed;” a discount card for your birthday; fibre space patterns before they are available to the general public; and a fibre space shirt or project bag for completing your card!
Become a Space Commander
Fill up all 8 spots on your card with each $100 you spend and receive advance notice of retreats, special events, yarn tastings, and other workshops; a private shopping event for you and your friends and invitations to members-only parties. Once you have become a Space Commander (completed this card), you will continue to receive a $20 gift card every time you complete a card.
Finishing Services by Inge Knits
Inge is an instructor at our shop and a local knit wear designer. She offers finishing services for your hand-knitted projects: including washing, blocking and assembly.
Susan’s Yarn Garden
Susan is a local professional knitter who can assemble, finish, block, seam, embroider, repair or even do some contract knitting! If you are in need of someone to do finishing for you, she is your lady.
Potomac Bead Company
Just around the corner from fibre space, this bead shop features thousands of square feet of gemstone and glass beads as well as supplies and classes.

This shop boasts pure ingredients in all of their products, meaning you can outfit yourself with lotions, soaps, shaving creams, and shampoos that are completely free of parabens, sulfates, and perfumes. Their lotions keep our knitting hands soft!
Nickell’s and Scheffler
This unassuming corner cafe will surprise you with expertly made soups, salads, paninis, and family recipes by the two chefs who run the place. Save room for one of Susan’s pies or coconut macaroons!
Lavender Moon Cupcakery (116 S Royal St)
Imagine a buttermilk cupcake stuffed with Mexican chocolate pudding and then topped with light and creamy chocolate icing…yumm! Other shop favorite is the vanilla bean iced cupcake filled with lemon curd. Really, these aren’t just your average cupcake. Get there early, they close when the cupcakes are gone!
La Fromagerie
Our local cheese shop carries artisanal cheeses and meats, finely crafted breads, crackers, chocolates, and of course wine! Their dedication to regional farms results in a unique variety of irresistible delicacies. They now serve lunch, so stop in this rustic shop for a pork belly sandwich or a salad of locally sourced veggies.
B&W Art, Antiques & Jewelry
We are dangerously close to this shop (just two doors down on Fayette!) They have the most amazing collection of vintage jewelry I have ever seen. Need something pink to go with a navy suit? She has entire cabinets of jewelry by color! A retro girl’s dream.
Sam Phao
Our favorite Thai restaurant is just two blocks away, and we can’t get enough of their traditional Thai fare. Grab a seat in a cozy booth off King Street, and be sure to ask for the Mango Sticky Rice when it’s in season!
